 Q1. How much is a Membership and how long does it last?

A. Membership is $75.00 and expires on May 31st of each calendar year. 

 

 Q2. What do I get for my membership fee?

A. As a NJGT member you will save up to 15 percent off the regular price on most NJGT tournaments. You are also eligible to play in all NJGT events. You will receive a Bag Tag, Tour Card and when requested you will receive a free personal profile page. That you update yourself. You can place your photo add, video and list all tournaments you have played in. You can also list your academics.  Q3. Can I play in a tournament without a membership?

A. You may play as a non-member in all our events. Non-members will be required to pay a larger tournament fee than our Members, Usually between $10.00 - $25.00.

 

Q4. What tournaments can I play in with a membership?

A. With an NJGT membership, you can play in any tournament we host, regardless of location. At the present time only one event is an "invitation only" event, The NJGT National Championship. The National Championship is normally held over the Labor Day weekend in September.

 

Q5. How much are you tournament Fees.

A. Tournament fees vary with each event. You can find the cost of each tournament by visiting the NJGT website. Click in the tournament tab on the top navigation bar or you may click on the individual tournament tab for detail information about an event.  All registration entries made 2 days or less of an event will be subject to a $ 20.00 late registration fee.

 

Q6. What is the refund policy?

A. A refund will be given if you withdraw from a tournament at least 7 days prior to that event. All cancellations will be subject to a $20.00 service charge. All cancellations must be requested by phone. Cancellations by email will not be accepted. There will be NO refunds for cancellations made 72 hours or less, prior to an event without a medical or doctor's note. If you have a special circumstance, please call our office to discuss your situation.Credits will be posted to your account. If you do not use your credit within 60 days you will forfeit your credit.

 

No credits or refunds will be given to Championship Events and TGYGA Ranked events.

If you register for an event and do not show and fail to cancel, your credit card will be charged the total amount of the event fee. If a member has two or more “did not show”, failed to cancel for events, the NJGT will require that all future membership and registration fees to be paid upfront. 

 

Q7. What is the adverse weather policy?

A. Under all circumstances, the NJGT staff will do everything possible to complete a tournament regardless of weather conditions. Unfortunately this sometimes requires that we play in adverse conditions. We do play in the rain. We do not play if lightning or thunderstorms are present. If it is not possible to complete all 18 holes of a tournament and all players of an age group have completed 9 holes, the NJGT will post these groups 9 hole scores. No refunds will be given if 9 holes of an event are completed. If it is not possible to finish 9 holes, a credit will be posted to your account to be used towards a future event. Because of costs already incurred by the NJGT at these events, we are unable to give refunds due to adverse weather.

 

Q8. What are the age divisions?

A. As you will see, our age divisions are different from most Junior Golf Organizations. We feel that these divisions provide a more competitive atmosphere for all of our members.

Boys - 5-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-18
Girls - 5-7, 8-10, 11-12, 13-18

 

Q9. Can I play in a different age division than my current age?

A. Yes. You can only play up in an age group, never down. We base your appropriate age group based upon your age as of June 1st of each year. If you decide to play up in an age group you are required to stay in that age group. This decision must be made and finalized before your first event of each tournament season.

 

Q10. Can I request to play with my friend at a tournament?

A. The NJGT office must have a least a 7 day notice indicating that you and your friend wish to play together. If the event allows us to pair you with a friend then we will do so.

We can not promise you that you will be paired with your friend on day two of a two day event. We arrange day two pairings based on your Stroke Average. Per age group, the times are assigned as follows: The highest stroke averages tee off first, this group will either be a 2-some or 3-some. The lowest stroke averages tee off last and may be grouped as a 3-some or 4-some.

 

Q11. How do I find out my tee time?

A. Tee Times will be posted the day prior to the tournament. You can find your tee time by going to the tournament Info page and click on tee times.

 

Q12. How soon should I arrive at the golf course before my tee time?

A. You must be at the tee box ten minutes before your tee time. Give yourself time to practice and to check in at the registration table.

 

Q13. Are spectator carts allowed?

A. The NJGT permits spectator carts. All arrangements pertaining to carts and cart rentals must be made with the host club. Not all host clubs allow spectator carts. It is up to spectators to call ahead and find out each clubs rules regarding this issue.

 

Q14. What types of awards do you give?

A. Please refer to our Rules Section, paragraph 20.

 

Q15. When are the NJGT's point seasons?

A. The NJGT Points Seasons are from September 1 thru May 31 for our Fall - Spring Season and from June 1 thru Aug. 31  for the summer Season.  Point Awards will be Awarded at the NJGT National Championship in September.

 

Q16. How do you calculate the points?

Q17. How do I login?

A. Before you can log on, you must first create an account with the NJGT website provided by shotstat. There is no charge to become a website member. To create an account click on the instruction tab located in the top navigation bar at the top of the page. If you would like to become an NJGT Members click on the Membership tab located at the top of the page.

 

Q18. Why can I not login?

A.  If you are using your user name and password from our old wed site they will not work you must create a new website account with ShotStat

Q19. Do I have to be a member of the NJGT to play in an event?

A. No. But you must create and account for the website. Your website account is free.
